About
The Bhutan Tennis Federation.
The national governing body for tennis in the Kingdom of Bhutan — run by volunteers, powered by the community.
Founded in 1996, the Bhutan Tennis Federation (BTF) is the recognised governing body for the sport in Bhutan. We are affiliated with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF).
BTF organises national championships, junior development programmes, coach education, and Bhutan's representative teams in international competition. Our coaches — including ITF-certified Coach Yonten Gyeltshen — run Mini Tennis sessions that introduce young children to the sport using smaller courts, lighter balls, and shorter racquets. Outside the federation office in Thimphu, almost everything we do is the work of volunteers.
Our focus
- Grow grassroots tennis across all 20 dzongkhags
- Develop a strong national junior pathway
- Train and certify Bhutanese coaches
- Represent Bhutan at international events
